Latest Updates

Project Activities – May 2026

Construction on the O'Hara Bridge (Bridge No. 014069) is complete.

Construction on the Pellam Bridge (Bridge No. 014030) is complete.

Construction of the Wintergarden Bridge began on March 18, 2026.  The bridge will be closed for 45 days to complete the bridge rehabilitation.

This bridge has confirmed Gopher Tortoises within the construction limits. An environmental consultant has been hired to manage the required tortoise mitigation. This process requires an FWC permit, which typically takes 90 days to obtain. Unfortunately, we have exceeded the 90‑day timeframe and the permit is still pending. As a result, we will need to extend the bridge closure until the permit is approved and mitigation can be completed.
