The West County Stormwater MSBU has requested this project, which will involve the removal and disposal of all nuisance and exotic vegetation, as well as trash, from approximately 18.65 acres of Oyster Creek to maintain positive drainage.Project Location
The portion of Oyster Creek that is included in this project starts at McKinley Terrace where the Gondolier Waterway turns into Oyster Creek and continues south under Rt. 776 and Winchester Boulevard into the Oyster Creek Subdivision. The project ends at San Casa Drive.Latest Updates
The temporary right of entry has been obtained for the private property portion of Oyster Creek.
Authorizations from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) have been obtained.
The contract is currently out to bid. Bids are due on May 20, 2026.
